I had ordered this for a couple different reasons. I have a tendency towards extremely dry brittle hair and had also been seeing hair loss at my temple. I am a 40 something grandma and the thought of losing my hair freaked me out... so I got this and some vitamins that are supposed to help. some tips for using this... Make sure you take the shower cap out of the plastic before you get in the shower and get the goop in your hair... I made the mistake of putting the conditioner in my hair and then trying to open the shower cap with my very conditioned hands... Needless to say the first time I used it I did not use the shower cap... Also make sure you set a timer For the 5 minutes 2 leave the hair mask in... Whether it's phone, kitchen timer or teenage daughter ... That way it gets left in the proper amount of time to do its job and you're not guessing... I really kicked myself for that the first time when I had to guess... Also make sure you rinse it out really really well... This is a very thick hair conditioning mask there is an awful lot of it in each pack... After sitting for 5 minutes and and sinking into your hair if you don't wash it out really really well it's hard to brush through after... I like that this comes in a set of 8 instead of being sold individually... That way I've got some on hand for several washes... I like the conditioning effect I got from it... It makes me feel better about my hair not sure if it actually thickens it or makes it grow but I feel better and I figure that's what counts
