50 years ago the Earth was attacked and 60% of humanity killed. In order to survive, teenagers are drafted into the defense force when they turn 18. What had been a war of attrition escalates when an alien hive is destroyed. In response the Earth launches a massive strike against the Scum's home world to end the war once and for all. The reason I really liked Earth Rising and look forward to the release of the next book in the series is the insight that Arenson brings into the characters particularly their defense mechanisms to overcome their fears and the loss of their comrades.

Quickbooks is an awesome program. However the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I have problems with it thinking I have 2 company's open (which I don't) and customer service says they can fix it for $500.00 a year or a one time fee of $400.00. Since I don't use for a business just personal do I have that kind of money to spare - NO! Now take a look at the cost of the program. The reason it happened was because I keep my file on my external hard drive. I took my laptop somewhere and when I plugged in my external HD it assigned a new drive to it and now the file will not open at all. So I will have to delete off my laptop reinstall and recreate my file. I have used QB for the last 10 years and haven't had a problem till I purchased this version. I really think it is because they want people to purchase their month version in which I don't feel that their servers are safe enough to host my personal information at this point.
